why you should choose goodnestone park as your wedding venue

Goodnestone Park is a historic wedding venue in the heart of the Kent countryside. It was built Goodnestone Park in 1704 and has some renovations and changes over the years. I truly believe that this house is a perfect wedding venue and this blog post hopefully will help you in deciding to book Goodnestone Park as your wedding venue.

The interior of the house is beautiful and elegantly decorated creating a timeless backdrop for youu wedding photographs. The house really does have the wow factor, but the gardens have such a sense of calm and serenity which in the morning of the wedding creates a wonderful atmosphere and even allows for games on the lawn before your big day. The views from the breakfast room feel like they go on forever and you feel that you are far away from the reality.

Goodnestone Park really has a way of making you feel at home. The 12 bedrooms that are available to you for hire are cosy and are full of character with a modern, yet timeless charm. My favourite room of the house is the master bedroom which is wonderful for morning prep. The room is full of natural light and has enough space to accommodate several people you would want to spend your wedding morning with. Bonnington Cottage is on the estate and sleeps four people this is another option for someone to spend time in the morning of the wedding or a separate spot for parents or grandparents to stay and is close by to the main house.

The gardens of the estate are quintessentially English and are well maintained by the staff at Goodnestone Park. The gardens are a perfect spot for couple and family photos. Goodnestone is the perfect wedding venue as there are so many stunning locations for photos, even if the weather turns, the inside has many wonderful nooks for couple photos and the gorgeous interior and furnishings can be used to create editorial couple photos with lots of natural light, it is not a dark venue which is so rare for country home wedding venues.

The staff at Goodnestone are the nicest people I have been lucky to work with and they are so accommodating to couples their guests and to fellow wedding suppliers, it really is so wonderful returning back to this venue to work at.

Theres are so many different options to get married at the venue including the charming Church of Holy Cross which is only a couple of minute’s walk through the beautiful gardens from Goodnestone Park to a civil ceremony on site or the Barn House which has a more relaxed rustic theme. The Orangery marquee offers a breathtaking setting from March to October. Perfect for up to 120 guests, it combines elegance with functionality, featuring options for a sit-down wedding breakfast and plenty of room to dance the night away to a DJ or live music. For people who don’t want to party they can return back to the house to enjoy a quiet nightcap before returning to their rooms.

Goodnestone Park really does tick off so many boxes for being the most wonderful wedding venue and easily accessible from the Goodnestone can be reached from London by taking a train to Canterbury and then a 20 minute taxi ride.   The journey by car is around 90 minutes and under 30 minutes from Dover. Prices start from £19,200 for a wedding which includes a two night stay as well as so many other services. Please contact the venue for more information here.
